Gray Catbird

The Gray Catbird is probably best known for its songs. They are closely related to the Mockingbird evident in their ability to mimic the sounds of other species in order to create their own melodies. Some songs can last up to 10 minutes. Catbirds like fruit-bearing trees and can typically be found in the thickets and vine tangles common in Eagles Mere. Although you might see a Catbird at any time of year in our area, you are most likely to find one during the warmer breeding season.
