Eastern Phoebe
The Eastern Phoebe is a plump grayish songbird with a dark head that looks a bit large for a bird of its size. Like most small flycatchers they are well equipped to catch insects using their short thin bill. They can typically be seen in quiet wooded neighborhoods and places where they nest under eaves and overhangs found on old buildings and bridges. Like many from Eagles Mere, they spend their winters in the south, so they can only be spotted locally during spring and summer.
