We all have gifts and we all have gaps! If you consider yourself a novice, or somewhat experienced artist, this class is an opportunity to strengthen your art and fill in many of your gaps. We will all paint a still life composition of flowers and also have time to work on a watercolor painting of a subject you choose.
Our two-day workshop will focus on:
- Using a color wheel to enhance your art with a special emphasis on the watercolor color wheel
- Using grids to transfer, enlarge, and reduce images from your own photos
- How to mix the many greens found in nature all around us, in order to properly represent them in our art
- Composition and elements of Art, specifically for still life painting.
Please know my goal is to recognize and respect your individual level of painting, then together help you grow to new heights. Remember, we were all beginner painters at one time!
Linda Berry’s childhood in Bucks County was similar to other baby boomers except for a wonderful difference – her mother, beloved Eagles Mere artist Edith Berry, was an exceptional artist and her first art teacher. Later education at York Academy of Art and Millersville University proved invaluable during Linda’s 25 year public school career. She has exhibited in Lancaster, Philadelphia and throughout New Jersey. Her painting, “Bikes on the Beach” is featured on the cover of the 2021 EMAA Directory, continuing the Berry Family’s proud tradition of ‘painting Eagles Mere’ for over 50 years! Linda and her husband, Dennis Gould, recently moved to Eagles Mere and established Berry Mere Studio which represents twelve artisans. Stop by and see their original art, prints, Kids’ Art Kits, jewelry, photography and ceramics.
