Dedicated to fostering the growth of chamber music in Northeastern Pennsylvania, the Northeastern Pennsylvania Chamber Music Society embarks on its 9th season, committed to bringing world-class chamber music to our region. Throughout history, composers have drawn inspiration from the beauty of nature, often finding the string quartet to be a favored medium for expressing this connection. Join us for an enchanting program featuring quartets that evoke the natural splendor of Pennsylvania. From the playful bird calls depicted in Dvořák’s ‘American’ String Quartet to the soaring melodies of Haydn’s ‘Lark’ Quartet, and the evocative Danish folk melodies arranged with picturesque charm, to the nostalgic echoes of Borodin’s Second String Quartet, this curated selection promises to leave you invigorated and captivated by both the timeless allure of these compositions and the profound natural inspiration that fueled their creation.
