Aug. 22 – Film, The Quiet Girl (Ireland 2022 PG-13).

Set in 1981, a withdrawn nine-year-old girl raised by impoverished parents among many other siblings. She is sent to spend the summer on a farm with a loving married couple, who are distant relatives. The discussion afterwards will also include the 88 page long short story, Foster (2010), by Irish author, Claire Keegan, upon which the film is based. It is a story of strong emotional depth. Families with teens will enjoy this film and book.
