Introduction to Acrylic Landscape Painting with Gerry Mann
Participants in this class will work to finish a small landscape painting of a subject/place of their choosing by working from a photograph. Various painting tools will be discussed and modeled. How do you want to depict yourself? Portraits created in this workshop will provide a snapshot in time, showing who you are at this moment.
On day one, you will learn how to draw a realistic black and white pencil portrait of the head. Amy will do a demonstration on measuring and proportion necessary to depict a representational head, and then work one-on-one with participants on their self-portraits.
Day two will focus on creating a portrait of your Psychological Selves. We will begin with a demonstration/lecture with examples of how pencil manipulation, composition, scale, proportion and light can be employed to create a portrait that goes beyond straight representation.
