Designed nearly two centuries ago by Adolphe Sax, the expressive possibilities of the saxophone are seemingly inexhaustible. Virtuosic saxophonist Jonathan Hulting-Cohen, Professor at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, presents an eclectic program with Jiayan Sun at the piano.Saxophonist Jonathan Hulting-Cohen and pianist Jiayan Sun present 300 Years of Fantasies in Music. Drawing freely from classic music across time and nationality, these works reimagine existing melodies and celebrate the joy of letting loose! Music by Telemann, Schumann, Debussy, Chen, and more, including the Carmen Fantasy by Pablo de Sarasate.
