$150 per person – students paint from personal photos – students bring their own supplies

This class runs July 28, July 29 & July 30 from 9 am-noon. We will be looking at your photos and evaluating which will be good to use for a painting reference. Pat will help students with composition, values and color, or how you might want to crop your picture or decide to adjust the colors and light in order to realize the best look for your painting.

Pat will also provide mini demonstrations as needed if a student has a question about how to proceed with their painting. Her hope is that students use their photos as a starting point for their paintings. There will be ample time for student input at the end of each day, as it is so valuable to get different views from fellow artists.

About Pat Leibowitz

Pat has been teaching watercolor for the past 30 years. She loves working with her students to help them realize how to paint with joy and creativity. Pat graduated from the University of Maryland with a major in Art and minor in Music. She also got a Masters in teaching and taught elementary school for 6 years.

After retiring from teaching to raise her family, Pat got back into painting and took her first watercolor course from prominent watercolor artist Edith Berry in Eagles Mere. Pat had always painted in oils in college; watercolor was a new and exciting experience for her. She has continued to study with other watercolor artists and learned many new techniques, and also started teaching a group of friends and found that her love of teaching and watercolors was a new start.

Pat is a member of several professional juried watercolor associations and have shown her work in many venues in both the Washington, DC, and Eagles Mere areas. This is Pat’s 5th year teaching one of the Friends of the Arts courses.
