A 50-year Career as a Costume Designer for theatre and television.

Molly Maginnis’ talk will center on the inner workings of design in different modes: opera, dance, film and of entertainment. Learn more about her favorite films: Sister Act, Broadcast News, As Good As It Gets, and The Bucket List. Favorite television shows are Patriot, Perpetual Grace Ltd and the new HBO show: DTF St Louis.

Molly Maginnis received a BFA in Painting from Washington University, St Louis, and a MFA in Costume Design from Carnegie Melon, where she first started to design costumes. Moving to NYC, she designed for theatre, opera and dance. Molly started her film costume designing career when she moved to LA in 1985. Molly moved to LA in 1985 and started her film costume designing career. She moved back to NYC in 2011 to design for the TV series, Splash.  Along the way, she married Ron Tippe, an animation producer, screenwriter and professor, and raised two children, Annie and Sam. She splits her time between Eagles Mere and Brooklyn.
